Can I look something up now? Due to the private nature of information available through our service we cannot allow immediate access or signup entirely online. Despite needing to verify some information over the phone as well as a contract needing a signature the process can often be completed within one business day assuming all information is readily available. Once an account is established a client may access reports about any adult, provided the subject has signed a consent authorizing the investigation as required by the FCRA and the client adheres to all legal requirements pertaining to dissemination and notification.  How long does it take to get information back? The response times to requests for information vary with the type of information being requested. In general information such as criminal records, civil records, social security verifications or credit reports will be available immediately. Information requiring manual intervention or solicitation such as detailed manual criminal checks, rental or employment references can often take 24 hours or more depending on the source of the information.
 How will I be charged and pay for the services I use? Invoices are generated for all clients with account activity at the end of each month. The invoice will cover all services provided during that calender month. For example if you process a report on July 5th an invoice will be generated at the end of July billing you for this service and any others requested during July. Our standard terms allow you 30 days to make payment on this invoice.
 Can we avoid doing all this typing? Yes. Often clients elect to fax applications instead of keying in all information. The results will then be available Online. Results that would normally be instant if submitted online will instead be available Online within approximately 1/2 hour provided the transaction takes place during normal business hours.
 What is meant by Instant Approvals? Information such as Social Security Verifications, Scoring Models, Most Criminal Records, Evictions and Credit Files are available instantly. The automatic Approval and Denial system is a part of this structure and therefore is also available instantly.
 Your services section states that fees listed are retail, what does that mean? As with most industries clients making large investments in the use of a vendor receive price discounts based on that volume. Reduced price tiers are available to higher volume clients. ASP also offers in many cases discount tiers to previous clients. Please contact an account representative for further details.
 What is so Comprehensive about ASP's services? ASP Screening is not a recent startup or entrant into the multihousing industry, simply offering database searches. We have provided complete screening services, including manual investigations of important aspects like Rental Histories and Employment in addition to complete automated searches for over 18 years.
 I have a question about a report I just received back. Clients with a current account on the system have access to a second, more comprehensive FAQ covering all of the nuts and bolts of the service.  What information is available through ASP?
ASP has been providing screening services for over 18 years. Unlike most other internet services started within the past 3 years, ASP makes all standard screening services available to its online clients.  How can we actually save 20%? When comparing published prices on an apples to apples basis ASP Screening will provide equivalent or better service for more than 20% less than most of our national competitors.
 Why does a more current scoring model matter? Scoring systems attempt to predict the future financial behavior of consumers based upon characteristics of their past behaviors. For statistically valid scoring systems massive samples of over 1 million individuals are evaluated over a fixed range in time to allow predictions of other individuals future behavior. The predictions will assume applicants have the same behavior patterns exhibited by those used in the testing samples.
Our entire industry has seen over the past few years that markets can change drastically in a short time as do the behaviors of consumers.
Our scoring system uses the evaluation of over 1.5 Million consumers, with a behavior evaluation period through the year 2000. Nearly all other screening companies rely on sample data from 1996 or older meaning they assume behavior patterns from 1996.
 Is this just an Online service? No. Unlike our national competitors we do not just provide Online database searches. ASP provides all services Online, via Facsimile or even mail and telephone.
 What's the FCRA I keep seeing mentioned? The FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act) is a broad legislative package, which in part regulates most commercial investigative activities such as the services ASP provides. Not only does it regulate the provider but also the end users of the information, you. We encourage all clients to review the actual legislation available at FTC.gov or have your legal counsel advise you about the sections pertinent to your situation. The Federal Trade Commission regulates compliance and violations of the FCRA.
 Who can use this service? In short, anyone with a legitimate business reason to evaluate a person's private information. They must also be in possession of an authorization or contract signed by the subject allowing such an investigation. The most common users are residential property management companies, private landlords, employers and investigators.
 What does ASP stand for? ASP Screening was founded over 18 years ago as Apartment Services Plus, Inc. Having provided screening services to a substantial number of employers over the years caused us to shorten the name for common public use to ASP, Inc. and ASP Screening. These registered DBA's were also added for aesthetic reasons and ease of use in conversation.
 Can I have my prospective residents pay you directly? No. Although we make every effort to provide a service that is exactly what our clients want in this case we must insist on payment being made directly by our client. We believe in forming a trusting relationship with our clients which is illustrated by our generous billing and payment terms. We have no plans at this time to accept payment directly from the subject of a report.
 I was denied housing because of something in your report. I feel the information is wrong, how do I get this corrected? A person denied housing has the right to see a copy of the report used to deny them and dispute any information listed. If you dispute certain information we will investigate that information a second time. If the information is found to be in error, we will update any client that has received your report with the corrected information.
 Are services only available over the internet? No, screening requests and delivery of results are available via the secure webserver, E-Mail, Facsimile, telephone, regular mail and even in person.
 Can I pay by credit card? Credit card payments are accepted via telephone, E-mail or normal mail. Due to a standard business to business monthly billing cycle immediate payment via credit card is not available at this time.
 How do I dispute information? To notify ASP of information that you feel is inaccurate call, E-mail or mail a statement containing the information you feel is wrong with specific details, your full name and the Report ID found on the Report you are disputing.
